I arrived fatigued and slightly ill.

The 9-mile journey from nearby Bangalore— India’s Silicon Valley—usually consumes less time, but an hour-long, rush-hour commute is not unusual in this bustling metropolis.

Then, without warning, I arrived in an oasis: The Soukya Holistic Center. It is a 30-acre, residential, organic farm where integrated medicine is practiced. My party was welcomed by the serene Soukya staff who carried trays laden with fresh coconut juice in their shells.

By the time of my departure four days later, my health had improved dramatically within 48-hours of Soukya’s prescriptive, Ayurvedic regimens, including diet, therapeutic massages and herbal supplements.
